[Greenbuilding] Eco-Homes in the UK

Hi,
Those .epa.gov./greenbuilding/ links make for interesting reading,.. however over here in the UK, you may like to check out the growing call for a UK national "code for sustainable housebuilding".
This code is not to be confused with our "building codes" or as we term them "The Building Regulations", which already require new houses to be very energy efficient, air tight, and solar shaded,... also since 2003 it has demanded condensing hotwater and central heating systems, and energy efficient cooling systems, without directly requiring "green facilities" such as "rain water harvesting", "renewable energy", "micro-generation", etc.
As from 2007 all new homes, built with any form of tax-credit or low-cost public finance, will be required to comply with the proposed "code for sustainable housebuilding". In general these will be called "ECO-Homes" or 'Ecohomes'.
