Here are some C/NET photo galleries showing Sunlight Direct's hybrid 
solar lighting systems and some fiber optics lighting fixtures from 
Fiberstars now coming into the marketplace.

Hybrid Solar lighting, intended to bring natural sunlight inside larger 
buildings, using runs of fiberoptic cables. :

This lighting system is similar to the "Himawari" ( = 'sunflower') 
technology available in Japan but apparently not here in North America.

Fiberstars seem to be used to keep heat producing light sources away 
from whatever you're lighting, as shown in them being used in dairy 
products cases and seafood displays.
