Peter,
I went with Thermotech windows - fiberglass on the outside and wood inside.
They are highly efficient and the company seems very responsive to
individual needs. http://www.thermotechwindows.com/
They do have some PVC parts, so be careful. The company is in Ottawa, so
not terrible well located for you..
