[Greenbuilding] Doing PEX myself

In many areas, you are hardly allowed to touch your own potable
plumbing. It is much more commonly legal to do your own heating system,
though gas lines and hook-ups to the potable water and the sewage system
are often sore-points.
You can almost certainly run your own radiant floor. You quite likely
can't install your own boiler. Sometimes, even if there are permitting
requirements, you can find a plumber that will work with you, allow you
to run the lines and they'll check them, pull the permit and call for
the inspection, and tie everything together. Not all plumbers will be
interested in this deal, and you may have to convince them you aren't
going to be a pain in their *&% for them to want to bother. And that
you're competent.
Do you know what you're doing? Are you willing/interested to put the
time in to learn? Those are just questions to ask yourself...
