'salmonella'?.   I think Shawna meant to write legionella.

Here in southern Australia (a mild climate) we have regular problems 
with people being infected due to the mist from infected 
air-conditioning cooling towers drifting into the street.   I would 
worry about showering in water that had sat for long periods above 
20C below 55C as inhaling legionella seems to be the principal 
infection path.  (These temps from from flaky memory).

Here cooling towers have to be registered, cleaned and tested regularly.
