[Greenbuilding] Doing PEX myself

Has anyone actually seen or heard of the above mentioned scenerio?  Lots of 
home owners swap out thier own fixtures and replace toilets etc, but I have 
never heard of an insurance company requiring proof that a licensed plumber 
did the work for reimbursements regarding flood damage.  Same goes for 
switching out light fitures and other handyman type work.  -Brett Nelson
