[Greenbuilding] overhead cellulose dense pack?`

I would like to insulate my basement ceiling with cellulose (600 square feet
approximately). The joists are 2x8s spaced not very evenly which is one of
the main reasons I'm tempted to blow in the insulation. I will be redoing
the knob and tube wiring first and plan to get some of the plumbing
relocated to where it is more accessible before tackling this.

(1) Is it advised to tack up a mesh/screen first and blow dry cellulose
behind/above/through this? Or better to damp spray? And if so, is the mesh
still a good idea?

(2) For various reasons I don't plan to cover the insulation with sheetrock
for a year or so after insulating . Is this fine? Does it impact (1) above?
