[Greenbuilding] [BULK] Selling a green-built home

I ran into the same Neanderthal thinking when I applied for a mortgage
to pay off my construction home. My Solar house with R-60 roof and 5
acres of woods was compared to a "COMP" tract home on a bulldozed lot,
with a conventional McMansion look and no Green features at all.
Amazing, the tract home was a lot cheaper to build for some reason.
Burned me up.

They will, generally, have a LOT more awareness of Green, environmental,
and earth-friendly ideas and will also understand how to market the
home.

Hi all,

A while back I mentioned that we are selling our somewhat green-built
home here in Leander, TX. A few of you expressed interest in hearing
the results. So far, we're still fixing it up, doing some small
repairs, repainting, etc. One thing I'm running into that perhaps
will be a problem is that agents ONLY want to look at what other
homes in the area have sold for. As in, the traditional "let's look
at the comps and come up with a price per square foot" method.
