[Greenbuilding] metal roof colors

i know lighter is better, but with proper insulation and ventilation,
does it matter a lot?
    The darker colors look better to me and everyone els i've talked to.
One advantage of a high-end metal roof is that they have darker
colors which supposedly reflect the heat. Do you believe it?

Yes, definitely. There is link from the Energy Star website. Cool roofs.
They have put some kind of reflective ceramic spheres into the paint that
reflect more light and keep the material cooler. There is a tax credit
available for using it. Almost all of the roofing suppliers are getting
their stuff tested to include this feature, and it will probably become
standard after a while.
