[Greenbuilding] mesh for retaining open cavity blow-in insulation

what is the mesh/screen called that one would use for the above purpose?
Would I poke holes into it for the nozzle?

The best one I've seen looked proprietary, and had "BIBBS Blown In Batts
System" printed on it. It looked like a cross between cheesecloth and
fiberglass window screen and came in an 8' roll. It was installed using a
special pneumatic stapler and wound up with staples about 1/2" on center. I
think the widest space between staples was about an inch. Anything much
further apart would allow too much insulation to sneak under the mesh at the
studs, and cause the wall to be wavy.

How about fastening it to the joists or studs? A hammer tacker and staples?
I could use furring strips, but would rather not.

Thanks.
