[Greenbuilding] Energy waste - an observation

Location: Cleveland park public library, DC 20008
Date: 12/11/07
Outside temp: 48 F
Room temp: 79 F
Hot air from heating units: > 120 F
Notes: 6 foot wide doors fully open, at least 2 windows open directly above heating units. Branch staff unable to switch off heating, or turn down heating controls (jammed). Today is abnormal, sometimes just windows are open
Hope: Staff have informed central maintenance
