Hi Lawrence,

No doubt you have been surfing the web for info.   The term 'swamp 
cooler' is probably unknown outside the USA.   Here in Australia they 
are called 'evaporative coolers'.  They range from small stand-alone 
units to whole-house devices with duct-work all over the place.  The 
small units seem to appear a lot on hard-rubbish collection days so I 
think there is a massage there.  From the little I know the quality 
of the water supply is important since you are basically running a 
distiller and get to keep all the stuff in your water supply that isn't
H2O.
