   Imagine a building that is informed by the eco-region’s characteristics
   that:
   • Generate all of its own energy with renewable resources
   • Captures and treats all of its water on site
   • Uses resources efficiently, and for maximum beauty.
   The AIA Seattle Committee on the Environment (COTE), along with the Cascadia
   Region Green Building Council
   (Cascadia) is issuing a challenge to all entries to build in a way that will
   provide all of us with a sustainable future
   Competition prizes will be awarded to the applicant teams from within the
   Cascadia bioregion (OR, WA, ID, MT, BC or
   AK) who best meet the established criteria. The monetary prizes are intended
   to award teams whose entries reflect true
   sustainability  as  measured  by the definition of the Living Building
   Challenge, integrated and holistic building systems,
   economic  viability  and  connection  to community. Collaborations are
   encouraged between individuals, firms, or disciplines,
   as they are the cornerstones of an integrated design approach. The Cascadia
   Region Green Building Council and
   Paladino & Company Inc. are sponsors of this competition.
