[Greenbuilding] SIPs vs. fix/improve the roof/ceiling

   why not just apply the sips over the existing roof and avoid the demo.

   or  do a little shimming and use foam insulation and metal roofing and
   strapping over the top

   don't forget to seal any endvents or soffitvents. and reflash the chimney.
