[Greenbuilding] green kitchen cab.s in NYC?

Hello Bill,

I haven't used Pure Kitchen (located in Brooklyn) yet, but they look
very interesting. They priced out one job for me in bamboo, but the
contract ended up going to the GC's cabinet shop for a lower price,
working off of my spec's for materials.

Another thought may be too high end. The European kitchen company
Valcucine (sp?) supposedly uses green materials. They have a showroom downtown.

Generally, I use local shops who build per my specs, as mentioned
above. I've also used a Pennsylvania shop (in Amish country) called
Greenridge that is very green and knowledgeable in the topic, and is
in the process of getting FSC certification. They are expensive but very good.

The availability of green materials here is vastly improved recently,
with new or expanded local suppliers.
