[Greenbuilding] [BULK] FYI - Daylight Savings Time Change

What's driving this is a perception that "daylight squanderings" time
(as I call it) affects energy use, which is a Green issue.
Deep analysis of Daylight Squanderings will show that is it an
unnecessary distraction, and that every argument for it is either
specious ("It helps farmers" when farmers don't care) or has a strong
counterargument (farmers milk cows at the same time every day, whether
the clock has changed or not). I wish it would just go away, I can't
sleep for weeks after the Spring time change. The effects on things
like energy use are complex, and tend to cancel out.
Daylight Squanderings has actually been repealed more than 8 times in
the last 100 years, but it was always vetoed.

Importance: Low
This is a heads up for anyone who doesn't already know about it. I'm
a
software developer and I just found out about it today. I don't know
how it
would impact your PCs if you don't update them but if this prevents
one
person from having one headache. It's worth it.
Congress( the opposite of progress) has changed the start & end dates
of
Daylight Savings Time beginning in 2007. It will now begin on the
second
Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. Those of you
that use
a version of Microsoft Windows should go to
[1]http://www.microsoft.com/windows/timezone/dst2007.[2]mspx to see
if you
are impacted and how to get a fix for it.
I apologize if it is inappropriate to post this here and if so
informed will
not do so in the future. I actually can't foresee doing this again.
This
just strikes me as a rather arcane computer issue that's flying below
the
radar of everyone I've mentioned it to.
