This would be my guess as well.  Just remember that *you're* the buyer 
and you're spending a lot of money and if the builder isn't bending over 
backwards to accommodate your needs, then you haven't found the right 
builder yet.  Easier said than done, I know....good builders are hard to 
find.  You could start with the ground-source installer and work your 
way back to the builder....i.e. have him/her be in touch with the 
builder about it....get him/her to educate the builder.
