When we had our home sprayed with one of the soy based foams two summers ago
there was absolutely no separation on the wood studs but minimal on the
precast basement's concrete studs, which were a bit cooler.

I call it "bread panning." I just assume that it's going to occur, and that
we've got to point things up with a can of spray foam. An installer told me
that spraying on concrete or masonry requires two passes with the spray gun,
a first to prime the cold wall, and a second which then can fully expand.
