[Greenbuilding] Book recommendations?

Hello folks --

My dad and I are doing winter-holiday gifts in January this year, due 
to travel schedules.  I'd love to hear folks' recommendations for 
books on passive solar and other green techniques that can be 
incorporated into stick built houses.  I don't think his knees are up 
to doing cob, and straw is questionable in our climate.  He is a 
small builder, one house or duplex at a time, lots of attention to 
quality.  (Runs in the family, I hope... Except he does just about 
all the work himself and I have a crew of anarchists -- which is, 
like they say, kinda like herding cats :).

Anyway, I'd planned to browse bookstores myself, but due to mono I've 
been too sick.  So I'll need to buy online and could definitely use 
suggestions!
