SK: I confirm that Ed Mazria's book is fabulous.  I also would recommend Dan
Chiras' book The Solar House published by Chelsea Green.  (A bit easier to
get than Ed Mazria's book, which I believe is out of print.)

You also mentioned:

SK: might I ask what climate you are in?  If in wet/humid climate, you CAN
build with strawbales.  Just like for wood (which also rots when wet) it's a
question of proper detailing.  I would refer you to an article I wrote for
