I do this to remove dust mites, which I'm allergic to.  Two minutes 
is usually enough for 1-3 piees of clothing, or 5-7 minutes if 
something's really bad.  I'm not sure about doing a whole load -- you 
might want to split it in two?  I think of this technique as "rinsing 
with air" as opposed to water.   I'd guess it'd be worth trying for pollens.
