Wow, now there's an idea--great exercise while spinning the wet clothes!

  For washing clothes we use a top loading but very efficient  Fisher 
and Paykel from NZ.  It doesn't have a great repair record according 
to both the stats and our own experience, but it washes super well 
and has a very fast spin (on regular) that makes line-drying easy.  I 
highly recommend the machine.

Before the new machine we bought a used Whirlpool which we kept in an 
unheated work shop for three years while we built our house.   It did 
a fine job but was not nearly as energy efficient as is the 
Fisher.  We sold that Whirlpool for what we bought it for.  A  good 
deal all the way around.
