Ken, I sent Kathy some photos offlist that I think you might like to 
see, too.  I'll send them offlist to you....if anyone else would like 
them, email me offlist and put "Ladybird photos" in the subject line.  
They're of a small man-made "pond" made to look like a spring in a 
sink-hole.  It's at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, 
TX.  We have a situation much like Kathy's and IF we put a water feature 
on the hillside, I'd like to model it after this.  I think it could 
easily be made a cool water spot in the summer and a hot-water spot in 
the winter....since we're using geothermal in the house, it would be 
easy to run it out here, too.
