T'ain't necessarily so.

I'd say that to wood-butchers, every solution may require a nail (or a  
bigger hammer).

To a carpenter skilled in her/his craft, the solution may be a wedged  
tenon or dovetail etc. ... carefully fitting pieces together so that they  
work in unison to create something of integrity, without the use of any  
additional mechancial or chemical aids.

Or the solution may simply be a few strokes with a plane or chisel whose  
cutting edge is  kept honed sharp enough to be used as a surgical  
instrument, as a matter of course.

But what carpentry has to do with WatJohn's intolerance of Carmen, I'm not  
sure.

What I do know is that WatJohn is an incredibly accommodating person whose  
capacity for suffering fools far exceeds mine .
