I am guessing that the condensation would result if the panels didn't
fit snugly, and allowed a small leak of indoor air to set up a
convection current across the window. If the space between the window
and the panel were sealed, then no additional moisture should get in.
I've heard this before, this makes me want to use magnetic seals on the
edges to really get a good fit, rather than the low-tech force fit that
I've seen a lot.
