you are right eric.
again i stress ---stop wasting money on stuff that is unecessary, doesn't
work and breaks.
oversized solar hot water with electric element in top of tank is way to go
, no muss no fuss.
i do agree with dr vasile that the gfx is a nice preheater for the solar
tank and can be cost effective if easy to install., but
tankless (gas or electric )are an unecessary, expensive and difficult ( does
not work well) when you have a solar system.
putting the tank in a heated space ( so losses are useful) insulating
pipes, reducing runs to point of use and perhaps a thermosyphon return line
( no electriciuty, pumps or valves, and maintains solar stratification) are
the way to go.
