[Greenbuilding] odour in walls

Thank you everyone that shared ideas and input for the odour in the
wall system query. You were all correct and on the same wavelength as
myself in regards to this issue.

My concluding thoughts on the problem were:

Yup, poly on the inside with a wet space full of drying building
materials and then Icynene makes for smelly space. So dry it out and
that should (but we all know won't) involve making some big holes in
the brand new wall system.
Seal up the holes (after completely dry) to stop air moving through
the smelly wall system.
Seal up the central vacuum that is acting like a chimney down to the
old basement with the 16' X 6' X 8' open cistern.
Ditto for the ductwork.
Inspect A/C for sealing and leaking around wall system.
Regularly inspect skylights to better track their ultimate demise.
Start reading some good building science books, websites, or
listserves like this one.

Thanks everyone on and off list for your sense of humour as well, as
some of you mentioned, I probably will be back at that house in a few
months/years to deal with the potential mould farm if he does nothing.

Stephen
