consider glazing it and making it into a mass wall. the southeast exposure
is good for wintertime heat and wouldn't get much sun in summer. you could
plant a climbing vine for additional summer shading. the glazing can be as
simple as poly or as complicated and expensive and as good looking as glass
with various plastics tating inbetween. each sq.foot so glazed should save
youabout $3 on heating each year.\\
a side benefit is the brick wall is now protected from freeze thaw cycles
and the weather.
i assume you are in a north temperate climate from your interest in
insulation.
