[Greenbuilding] Garage specs

One quick comment on the original proposal: I don't know that a clay
floor in a garage is a good idea, if you are going to be bringing
vehicles in there. I think you'll find the floor gets rutted and/or torn
up. Except if you don't mind that, in which case go ahead! I don't have
experience with clay floors (I assume this is a compacted earthen
floor?) and I'm not sure what look you're looking for. Of course,
earthen-floor sheds/garages are nothing new, but it sounds like you're
building a fancier space. Actually, I can't really tell what this space
is about: will it be heated, work on vehicles, other work, an upstairs
"bonus room", or what?
