Just fyi, my recent experience in Columbia, MO, -- the builders I got bids from were, at best, lukewarm about 2x6 on 24 in. construction. One of them flat out didn't want to do it, another would have but it clearly was not his cup of tea. The third guy I decided against him after seeing some of his work up close.  These were all custom builders. So I ended up with 2x4 on 16, tho I wish I hadn't.
