What are the opinions out there as to the effect of
different sheething thicknesses? Is it worth it to
increase thickness as a way to offset builders
concerns with using 24 oc walls?

in the past year, I've worked on two homes with 24 oc
ext walls. one had 5/8" advantec as sheething and one
had 1/2" ply.
although the two structures were very, very different,
it seemed as if the 5/8" increased the wall strength
to a point it could have been worth the investment in
labor and mat. cost.

it was definitly nicer/safer using wall brackets on
the 5/8 sheething :-)
