The greatest portion of our heat this winter came from the large pickup bed 
size pile of locally grown framing lumber scraps left over from framing our 
new house, along with some scraps from other projects we have done this 
winter. We hardly use logs except for overnight burns. That KD yellow pine 
sure burns hot and clean, with little ash do deal with.
