[Greenbuilding] Advanced framing/OVE / 100 years from now

Need to be very careful with 2x4 wall 24 o.c.    We had basement 
walls with concrete floors overhead so designed.  No bracing  or 
sheathing mentioned in the specs.  Needless to say there was give and 
some buckling over several long spans, fortunately noticed and 
corrected before it had gone too far.  Presume the designer never 
talked to an engineer.  Certainly we should have known better and 
should have built a stronger wall at the start.
