- Stainless steel could be used, but there are problems with toxins leaching
into water due to corrosion, I am told by the pump and well contractors (IS
THIS TRUE???).
Stainless steel is readily corroded by salt water. I think it is the sodium
that corrodes it. It wouldn't take a lot of salt. I can't think of any
stainless water piping. Probably for that reason.
And Chromium etc., found is stainless steel, is not fun in water supplies.
