My dad had his uninsulated stucco walls insulated from the outside many
years ago, At first the patches were slightly visible, but now, after a few
coats of paint, they are totally invisible.
Your contractors are probably thinking that sheet rock is much easier to
patch than stucco, and that is true. My dad's house has lath and plaster
interior walls. Yours might, too, if it was built in the '40's.
The surface texture on your inside walls may be difficult to match well.
Ask about that.
