Because that could be the first step toward many people realizing  
that, "hey, I could design and build my own small, natural and  
efficient dwelling myself!" and if enough people followed through on  
that it, discovering how much more fulfilled they can through self  
reliance and with 'less,' it would mean the collapse of the  
residential building industry, much of the architecture profession,  
the building supplies industry, the real estate business, a lot of  
the mortgage industry (though they've done a pretty good job of  
getting close to the point of collapse themselves!) and give lie to  
the fantasy that we can solve our energy and climate problems with  
high-tech solutions and make a lot of money doing it!
