Among the many advantages, specially when it rains, the huge 
disadvantage of inward opening windows is that you must be careful 
where you place your furniture.  In our nearly all window small 
bedroom we would have no place to put our bed if we wanted to open 
several windows.

While we don't have eaves on our house, we do have permanent awnings 
that extend a full 2 feet and these do not stop the rain from coming 
in any of our windows; it's wind blown rain almost always.   Sacie
