Wow, $11,000 and you supply the truck? That's seems mighty steep to me. As I 
understand it there is an 80HP electic motor that is a drop-in, bolt on to 
the transmission of an S-10. Add a bunch of batteries and there you go. Must 
be more to it than meets the eye.

I'd love to have an electric S-10, charging the batteries from roof mounted 
PVs. We live in a small rural town and don't usually travel to far for our 
needs. These little diesels we own don't even get close to warming up if we 
are going around town here so an all electric vehicle would be great.

My dream is a diesel hybrid plug-in, charging the batteries from PVs and the 
proposed off shore wind farm here and fueling the ICE off the biodiesel made 
right here in town with soy meal byproduct. Source the oil from algae grown 
in passive solar ponds and fed by our town's waste water treatment plant and 
we're close to being as sustainable as one might hope to be.

Something to work on for sure.
