Hi Ben.

You really want everything to be dried out completely within 48 hrs. to
prevent mold growth. Because you have small children in the home who would
be more susceptible to indoor environmental quality issues, including mold,
I would err on the side of caution and make sure you deal with every area
that potentially had water intrusion so you don't end up with a mold
reservoir somewhere within a cavity which may impact your family's health at
a later time (not to mention the structural integrity of your home). Also,
insulation that has gotten soaked will lose its insulating properties.

As this is within my area of expertise, I am going to direct you to my
business blog so you can do some homework. Be sure to check out the mold
resources (look at the EPA document on mold remediation especially,) and
click on my "tag" for mold for some other good info as well.

Hope this helps...
