[Greenbuilding] firing a roofer--update and 2 questions

Hi Ben,
Good that things are looking up!

Regarding payment to the guy you hired: IMO you owe him
nothing, considering how much *you* paid in time and aggravation.

Once it's all over (assuming everything got fixed at no expense to you),
you could decide to be generous and pay some, but I don't think
you have an *obligation* to do so.  (And it's not even clear to me
that it would be a good thing for that guy, who really should be looking
for a different line of work (or working on getting some training).
