Hello Brad and other listserv readers
1)I caught the email thread on deconstruction contractors as I was
sitting in a meeting at the Canadian Standard Association in Toronto on
Wednesday, where we talked about the feasability of developing a
standard or guideline on deconstruction. The question, on which we
would like feedback from the "deconstruction industry" is whether there
are any best practice documents for this industry in North America
(managemnet/contracting, etc)?
2) The other question relates to a CSA guideline that is already
publisehd (CSA Z782) on Design for Disasembly or Adaptability of
Buildings. The Committee responsible for this guideline is looking for
designers currently involved in a design project in which they could
"test run" and validate the concepts described in the guideline.
Is there anyone on this list
- who could help us with best practies for deconstruction (1) or
- who would like to test-run the Z782 Guideline (2)?
Kind Regards

You might try these groups in the area and if not directly, they can
very likely give you good recommendations.
Murco Recycling
Island Girl Salvage
Urban Habitat Chicago
they will all come up in a Google search.
