When I was designing my house I found a program called Loopcad 
(www.loopcad.com) that had a free time limited demo that helped a lot 
with the pipe layout.

I also used Kitec which is a pex-al-pex pipe and found it much easier to 
handle as it will hold a shape when it is bent.
