Jay,
this is very interesting.
(1) Do you happen to know how these standards count area on floors which
lack full-height exterior walls? In other words, how the area of the second
floor of a 1-1/2 story house would be counted?
(2) As it becomes more common to build with thicker walls, do you see any
reason the ANSI standard might one day account for this?
In my situation adding Larsen trusses to my house will increase its size (so
measured) by more than 10%.
