this is why many of our passive solar greenhouses are done as bumpouts 
without foundations. one client even did the bedroom bunks this way.
it doesn't sound like much,  100 sq ft of bunks and 100 sq ft of gh saves 
$200/sq.ft appraisel x 200 sq.ft x  $30/1000 tax  or $1200 per year in 
property taxes and $200 in fuel savings. kind of puts a perspective on what 
really costs in building.

glad to hear the standard confirms some clients experiences.

thicker walls do cost property tax money.
