You might like to know about two institutes which offer training and
certification in infrared thermography.
The Academy of Infrared Thermography was originally in Kamloops, B.C.
but has relocated, judging by the phone numbers.

A successor to the Academy is the Institute of Thermography, which is
still in Kamloops. The operator of this school was involved with the
Academy in the past.

There are probably others like this, but the Kamloops based ones seem to
be among the earliest such training and certification services, if not
the first. I came across this quite a few years ago. I don't know if
it's online at either of these places now, but I remember the course
description leaving me with the impression this could be quite a
challenging course, made easier if one had a good grounding in college
level physics and perhaps some engineering. Among other things, I
believe they train you how to calibrate your instruments...ah I checked,
and there is a set of course descriptions linked on the Institute index
page.

Cheers,

Chris Green.
