Here's a How-to published by the Family Handyman magazine discussing the 
installation of washer overflow trays to catch washing machine 
overflows, leaks, etc.

I presume there are others, and that the prices vary among manufacturers 
and retailers.

The single lever shut off valve shown in the article is a good idea.

Ordinary supply hoses should be checked every so often, and probably 
replaced every 4-5 years.
Or your could opt for something like the FloodCheck hose shown here:

This stuff costs, but suffering the immediate, and potential long term 
effects, from a flood will probably cost a lot more.
And one might be able to push for reduced insurance costs if you can 
demonstrate this equipment is installed properly in your building, since 
a big percentage of insurance claims are for flood damages.
It's worth a try, that's for sure.
