They don't come with screws. You get those when you pick up the box at 
the store. Or that was the case when I bought some a few years ago. The 
screws go in at about a 45 degree angle, so it's like toe-nailing the 
boards, only better.

It's quite probable you won't need one of these for every 24" of joists. 
Leave a gap of 24" between them then on the next joist place them  to 
line up with the gaps on the previous joist. So it you have, say, 20- 
16' joists, you'll only need 160' of these. Roughly 2/3ds of box of 100. 
And you might not need to install them under cabinets or within 24" of 
the walls supporting the floor.

At least that's my thinking at this time for this job. I've only 
installed them on new construction.
