[Greenbuilding] Tip of the day - recycled insulation

In the spirit of recycling patio doors........

Last year we had a relatively small section of flat roof  re-roofed.
It turned out the old roof was insulated with 1 1/2" extruded polystyrene. 
It further turned out that it was done in a manner way that a good chunk of 
it was salvagable.

Although drizzled w/ tar, we're looking forward to using it below the slab 
of an addition.

The roofers said that although not common, they did run into reusable 
insulation a few times a year.
So if you're looking for an inexpensive source of insulation check w/ some 
local roofers...........
