[Greenbuilding] Attenuating the sun shining through corrugated fiberglass

In 2000-2001 I spent a year in Singapore, where to code, wiring and plumbing
could not be buried in walls. There were some nice looking solutions, but i
wasn't  interested enough at the time to take note or photos.
   Does anyone have any links to products or solutions that keep this stuff
accessible? It makes a lot of sense, if one can overcome aesthetic concerns,
and noise concerns from the water.
