Levin's house was an almost-gut rehab of a rowhouse in an up-and-coming
neighborhood. Probably around 2200-3000sf. We were interviewed for the story
to discuss process and we gave them a few other--cheaper--projects to
exhibit, but they went exclusive with this project b/c it's going for LEED
Platinum--which gives a bigger simpler hook for them to put on the story
("alphabet of acronyms", etc). We were worried the story would leave
listeners thinking "green = cha-ching"....Make your own conclusion on that.
Of course Peter was a slam dunk.

Re Peter Yosts debut on NPR's All Things Considered, it was a good talk
with pointers on important aspects of what it means to build 'green' but I
was a bit dismayed to hear the $500,000 price of the renovation. I imagine
the building cost not a lot less than that to buy, this before it was
gutted. Assume it is a large house as well. Sacie
